Bill Wilson, president of Americans for Limited Government, recognizes that the oil spill is a tragedy and will have a negative impact on people all along the Gulf Coast. But he says a worse problem will be when politicians use this tragedy to justify an increased reach for power and increased demand for regulations and controls. He says that move is almost a certainty for the Obama administration.
"There's no tragedy that they won't seek to capitalize on," he remarks.
It is very interesting that the explosion of the oil rig was shortly after the announcement that there would be more off shore drilling. Of course there won't be any new drilling now, and the federal government will have to step in and take control.
